The Sociedade Civil n Italy who welcomed us ....

E 'ora che del nostro prendiamo coscienza alla salute and land lontano il punto in cui rivediamo partita siamo. La
Nossa Senhora Aparecida Civil Society. Per
day I said to myself: "You'll be able to tell the work of these people who are hosting us, to describe the projects, to talk about their lives for years down here?".
useless, before I leave I did not, and someone he knew from the start that this would happen!
But tell me if we could find the time? Every moment had a meaning and it seemed organized by time. To give up a trip, a meeting, a technical inspection, and so fixed it seemed sacrilegious act: POSTPONED!

But now I tell you a little 'men down there, and without doing good too, I'll let the survival techniques of an Italian NGO in the jungle Fronteiras of Tres!

So then ... let's take a look at the background:

1989 - Italo Paternoster father to leave his commitments on a mission in Argentina, and came to this tiny piece of land, forest invaded by yet more than wild, snakes, lagarti, etc.. Etc. .
Together with a group of Italian nun sets up a small nursery that could give children dell'invasão (favela as it appeared at the beginning, stripped of everything, electricity, water, sewage) a first level of education. These people devote themselves for years with hard work to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of Bairro Porto Meira (then probably much less extensive). They put up a small clinic, di fronte alla cappella dove i religiosi e la comunità condividevano i momenti di crescita spirituale, e inizia così un nuovo percorso di educazione alla salute che si amplierà di lì a pochi anni con un altro grande progetto.

Gennaio 1997 - padre Giuliano Inzis, allora 34enne, originario di Cuglieri (OR), arriva a Foz do Iguaçu e insieme a padre Abbondanzio porta avanti i lavori presenti sul territorio a nome della loro missione.
Oggi è il coordinatore di tutti i progetti e al suo fianco lavorano Miguel A.Vera (36anni), padre di origine argentina, nella missione dal 1999, coordinatore del CAIA (Centro de Atenção Integral ao Adolescente), la madre superiora Anna Maria, Presidente della Sociedade Civil, Sister Rosa, head of the pre-escola, from about 13 years, and Sister Anita and Sister Aurelia responsible for the nursing sector (respectively about 7 and 4 years). Always

1997 - the priests, members of the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception and the Sisters of the Institute Comforter Maria, decided to form the Sociedade Civil Nossa Senhora Aparecida (SCNSA). Formalize their work in cooperation, will develop social projects approved by the Prefeitura (common) and to receive from the state and, consequently, solidarity, support and contributions.

February 1998 - Construction begins on the Practice and SCNSA proposes the creation of the first training course nursing, which lasts four years, until then non-existent in Foz do Iguaçu, thanks to funding of 8 per thousand. The University UNIOESTE
public, will host lectures and later resurface as the undergraduate nursing curriculum, taking charge of total management.

2001 - the entire community participates in the inauguration ceremony of the first wing (Ala Medica) of the Clinic (the second-Ala-diagnostics will be completed in 2004 and became operational only in 2005).
Inside welcomes specialists, doctors, nurses, psychologists, administrators, social workers. Together with the staff of the pre-escola, the project CAIA, Sentinel program (assistance to child victims of sexual abuse and all forms of violence), the interns, the operational team now has 150 elements. The SCNSA was able to use, so 100% of local staff, creating jobs that improve the quality of life of those who occupy them and being able to meet the required health intervention of thousands of families in a neighborhood that now has 42 thousand inhabitants, always considered the edge of town (7 km from downtown), but growing.

2006 - Foz do Iguaçu has become a metropolis of 310,000 inhabitants, the only Foz can hold a total of 28,000 beds in all the luxury hotels that offer support to tourists every year. Together with the other border towns, Puerto Iguaçu (Argentina) and Cidade del Este (Paraguay) is to create an urban conglomerate of more than 650 000 inhabitants in an area very small space.
Three cultures as different as they are often forced to live together (for economic and social), while that of Europe, dating back of ancient settlements, is the Malgamare. Do not underestimate
then the 72 ethnic groups, where the predominant is the Arabic with 12,000 members. The
SCNSA feels the need to be recognized as an integral part of the reality of a border city, hiding behind the endless natural beauty and villas with swimming pool of the most "noble" silent misery and loneliness of those who do not know how out of drugs, prostitution, trafficking, and physical or psychological violence of any kind.

Father Giuliano
says ... "The greatest difficulty is the prevailing lawlessness. Esistonole standards, but are difficult to enforce and the legal system, cumbersome, is not able to respond to the dynamic development of EDI inclusion sociale. In an area of \u200b\u200b8,511,996 sq km, the state has yet to play undebito 4 trillion of foreign real and spending only 1miliardo300mila to invest in the social (data Italian Episcopal Conference ). The tax base is too low. Too few pay taxes. "
These data are in reference to the foreign debt paid in biennio2004-5 and the fee for the same period, investment in education, health, safety and welfare, and are given dellaCNBB (National Conference of Bishops Brazil - dos ConferênciaNacional Bispos do Brasil)

... Meanwhile, increases the crime:

"Foz do Iguaçu is the third largest city in Brazil murdered. There is a huge legal and financial insecurity, economic plans come and go ... ten years after high school, there is no specialization, which introduces the world of work. If you do not have the money for private courses that give professional, if out of the market. "

... How to solve all the problems without funds?
Fortunately, there is always someone who has a sensitivity or superfine has a duty to think a bit 'above ...

Looking ahead to 2007 - SCNSA think the two major objectives:
Building the hospital to give the opportunity of admission to patients who need specialized care long-term
Building Centre dedicated to teenagers of the project CAIA (2000sqm) and hopes always
continue to make prevention and training, to give continuity to the projects and achieve many of the results set.

These few lines, alas, can only open a small window on the enormous amount of work done by SCNSA and that is why people who desire to grow and is able to transform itself into a corner of the world so far away, in South Brazil. But I hope are sufficient to make known the possibility più persone, fare as you can, starting dalle cose più semplice, per migliorare le situazioni di ogni degrade in part del mondo, anche nel nostro Paese. Il Brasile
insegna. Ilaria
